18 year old grade eight pupil committs suicide

An  18 year old grade eight pupil at Shimumbi Basic School in Luwingu has committed suicide.

Fidelis Bwalya who hails from Chief Munkonge’s area in Kasama is said to have hanged himself on a tree using a fibre rope.

Northern Province Police criminal investigations officer Kenneth Nkuwa confirmed the incidence which occurred on 18th April, 2014.

Mr Nkuwa said it believed that on the material day, Bwalya was rebuked by his mother over the habit of beating his siblings.

Bwalya then told his mother that he was going away and never to return.

His body was only discovered in a decomposed state in a near-by bush last Friday.

The Police criminal investigations officer has since ruled out foul play and that Bwalya’s body has been buried.
