Zambia’s Vice President Dr Guy Scott and the new Zambian Minister for Agriculture and Livestock, the Honourable Minister Wylbur Simuusa, will both attend the upcoming Agritech Expo where thousands of agri-professionals are expected to gather from 4-5 April at GART in Chisamba. The Vice President will deliver a keynote address during the Agribusiness Congress on 4 April and be the guest of honour at the opening ceremony to the expo. The new Minister will also be an honoured guest at the event.
“The attendance of the new Minister and the Vice President at Agritech Expo both humbles and delights us”, says Amore Swart, the conference programme director. She continues: “we take pride in organising a relevant and practical programme addressing current challenges experienced by Zambia’s agricultural sector as well as looking at its development. We are pleased that the government supporting our efforts with such high-level attendance by both the Minister of Agriculture and Livestock and the Vice President.”
Strong local support
Agritech Expo boasts other strong, local industry and institutional support with key event partners: the Zambian National Farmers Union (ZNFU); Musika, a Zambian non-profit that stimulates private investment in the smallholder market; the agri-research event venue GART and USAID, which will offer a comprehensive, free technical workshop programme.
The global agri giant AGCO has already confirmed its exclusive diamond sponsorship for Agritech Expo while Stanbic Bank is a platinum sponsor. The expo is free to attend for all agricultural professionals who pre-register, or arrive with an event ticket.
