George Gondwe to recontest NPC post

PARALYMPIC Committee of Zambia (NPC) acting president, George Gondwe has declared his candidature to re-contest the position at the elective annual general meeting set for March 30.
Gondwe said in a press statement released in Lusaka yesterday that he has earned the needed experience to take over the running of the Paralympics sports in the country.
“I have been in the disability sport for over 24 years and have served as NPC vice-president for over nine years. The sports fraternity and Government can attest to my hard work and good leadership qualities,” he said.
And Gondwe said the meeting would be held in accordance with the NPC constitution with member clubs required to be in good standing with committee by having no arrears.
He also said only clubs in good standing with NPC will have the right to vote or contest and no member club or candidate should have any case pending before the committee.
Gondwe said all positions will be up for elections starting with the presidency, vice president, secretary general, treasurer including five committee member positions.
Meanwhile, Gondwe has expressed happiness with the Government continued support to Paralympics.
He commended Government for its support to NPC through financial, material and technical which he said was cardinal in efficient administration and coordination of disability sports programmes.
