Police in Mansa have apprehended a 31 year old man who attempted to sell two juveniles at K 30,000 each.
The incident happed on 11th February, 2014 around 17:20hrs at a named Guest house in Mansa.
Luapula Province police commissioner Malcom Mulenga confirmed the incident to K-fm news today and named the suspect as PATRICK LENGWE of Musumali village in Chief Kalasa-lukangaba’s area.
Mr. Mulenga said the matter was reported to the police by a named woman of Mansa on the said date.
He further said the suspect wanted to sell the two juveniles at k 30,000 each.
He said the two juveniles aged 18 years and 19 years are both of Chilumba village in Chief Kasomalwela’s area in Samfya District.
The police commissioner said the suspect has been calling the said complainant using a mobile phone informing her of the said persons whom he had wanted to sell to her and that the whole issue started in January, 2014 where the said suspect has been insisting that he really wanted to sell her the said human beings.
The said suspect has since been formally arrested and charged with the subject offence of ATTEMPT TO COMMIT THE OFFENCE OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING and will appear in the Court OF Law soon.
