K46m released for new school

Chipili, February 15, 2014, ZANIS…….Government has released K46 million for the construction of a new secondary school in Chieftainess Mwenda’s area in Chipili district of  Luapula province.

This came to light when ZANIS in Chipili visited the construction site recently.

The construction has been awarded to the China Heinan Constructors Company (CHICO), who are also upgrading the old Kawambwa road from Mansa, Luwingu and Kawambwa.

China Heinan Site Engineer Xu Dahuo confirmed that the funds had been released and that the construction works are expected to be completed within five years.

Meanwhile, Mr Xu complained to ZANIS that the company had recorded an increase in theft of working tools at the site. 

And Chipili Police Officer in Charge Alfred Kanyembo warned cautioned the workers against engaging themselves in thefts as they risked being arrested.
