Nakonde man shot dead by unknown people

The 33-year-old man of Nakonde, who was shot at by unknown people, yesterday has died.

Muchinga province deputy police commissioner, Bonnie Kapeso, who confirmed the shooting, told ZANIS that Osward Ng’ambi of Mutindi Village was shot at yesterday in the morning using unknown fire arms for unknown reasons.

Mr Kapeso said Ng’ambi died last night at about 21:00 hours in Nakonde district hospital.

He said the shooting happened when the victim was chatting with a friend.

Mr Kapeso added that the deceased sustained gunshot wounds on his back and was later rushed to Nakonde District Hospital where he died.

And police in Mchinga have since opened a docket of murder and investigations are under way.
