Mungu Ward Councilor in Kafue district Clement Chidila has bemoaned the increase in stock theft in the area.
Mr Chidila said he had been receiving many reports for the past two weeks from people in the area complaining about their animals being stolen.
He said this week alone, he received three reports from people whose animals had been stolen adding that at one point the thieves went to an extent of slaughtering an animal in the same area where it was stolen from.
Mr. Chidila told ZANIS in an interview that people in the area were worried about their animals being stolen if nothing was done about the prevailing situation.
He has since called on police to work closely with the community to intensify their patrols in the night because residents risk having all their animals stolen.
