Lukulu district on course with farm inputs

Lukulu, December 19, ZANIS — Lukulu District Agriculture Officer Simon Musenga says the district has this year received the 2013/2014 farming inputs in good time.

Mr Musenga says the inputs were received in mid November this year adding that 75 percent of the areas in the district have received the inputs.

He named some of the received inputs as 2000 x 10kg maize seed bags, 60 x 10kg bags of Rice, 1340 x 5kg bags of Sorghum and 4000 x 50kg bags of D compound fertilizer most of the inputs have come in good time.

He said many parts of the district tend to receive their input late as the district faces transportation challenges from the depot to the satellites.

Mr Musenga added that previously, many local transporters either drop out on the last minute or they don’t meet the terrain challenges of the area hence this tend to pose as huge challenge to the ministry to effectively deliver services to the people.
