Power Dynamos coach Tenant Chilumba has cautioned over his midfielder Julius Situmbeko’s prospective move to Kenyan champions Gor Mahia.

Gor are reportedly closing in on Situmbeko after impressing the Nairobi giants at the just ended Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup that Kenya hosted from November 27 to December 12.

Situmbeko is currently on a 12 month loan deal with Power that expires this month.

“I spoke to the boy when he came back from Kenya but he never mentioned anything about moving but of course we read about that move in the newspapers,” Chilumba said.

Situmbeko has enjoyed ample playing time under Chilumba since the coach took charge at Power in June despite scoring just two goals from midfield.

“We should not rush him because he might end up getting a bad contract,” Chilumba said.

Situmbeko was a key player for Zambia at the just-ended 2013 Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup where Chipolopolo finished third although the midfielder did not score any goal.

Meanwhile, Chilumba cautioned that the 20-year-old was still very much a work in progress.

“He needs guidance now. Yes people are talking about him now but he is not yet a star. He is still young and still learning,” Chilumba said.
