The Foundation for the Democratic Process (FODEP) has appealed to political parties participating in this week Friday’s Mansa central parliamentary by-election to maintain peaceful campaigns.

FODEP Executive Director Macdonald Chipenzi has told Qfm in an interview that political parties ferrying cadres to Mansa should ensure that they control them.

Mr Chipenzi says under the current circumstances, political parties are allowed to ferry cadres but that the most important thing is to keep them in control to avoid causing violence.

And Mr. Chipenzi has expressed concern with the level of electoral corruption taking place in Mansa ahead of the by-election.

He says the FODEP team of the ground is taking note of the corruption being perpetrated with the view of ensuring that those involved are brought to book.

Mr. Chipenzi has since appealed to political leaders campaigning in Mansa and the people of Mansa to desist from engaging themselves in corrupt activities in order to encourage the holding of free, fair and peacefully elections.
