Zambia striker Jacob Mulenga is sidelined until January after suffering another injury setback at FC Utrecht.
The 29-year-old striker sustained an injury just 12 minutes into Utrecht’s 3-1 away loss at Vitesse on November 9 that subsequently saw him miss Zambia’s friendly away to Egypt on November 14.
“Jacob Mulenga suffered a thigh injury on Saturday in the match against Vitesse,” FC Utrecht stated on its official website.
“An MRI scan revealed that the Zambian has strained a muscle in his right thigh. This means that the attacker will not be action before the winter break.”
Jacob’s 2013/2014 season has been blighted by injury that also saw him miss Zambia’s crucial 2014 FIFA World Cup Group D qualifying decider against Ghana away in Kumasi on September 6.
