Jacob Mulenga is on injury alert ahead of Zambia’s November 14 friendly against Egypt after limping off in league action at Utrecht.

The Dutch-based striker limped off just 12 minutes into the first half of Utrecht’s 3-1 away loss to Vitesse on Saturday evening.

“Jacob Mulenga is injured. He left the pitch in the 12th minute and was replaced by Yoshiaki Takagi,” Utrecht stated on its official website.

Meanwhile, it was an uninspiring weekend for any of Zambia’s European-based call-ups for Thursday’s friendly away in Cairo.

In Russia, midfielder Chisamba Lungu played the full 90 minutes for struggling third from bottom FC Ural on Friday but they went down 4-1 at home against 9th positioned Rostov.

And on Saturday in Israel, defender Emmanuel Mbola played the full 90 minutes in Hapoel Ra’anana’s 0-0 away draw at Ironi Kiryat Shmona.

In Belgium on the same day, striker Rodgers Kola was on the bench in KAA Gent’s 1-0 away win over Charleroi.
