Government says it will not allow mining investors to set up mining operations in National Parks for the preservation of the national parks.

Ministry of Tourism and Arts Permanent Secretary, George Zulu, says government is trying so hard to ensure that investors do not set up mining projects in national parks and create animal human conflicts.

Mr. Zulu has also recommended the Zambia Environmental Management Agency (ZEMA), which has rejected a number of such project citing environmental concerns.

He says it is with this background that government is taking a cautious approach to sanctioning mining projects that are located within protected game management areas.

Mr. Zulu was speaking in an interview with QFM News.
