NKANA striker Evans Kangwa has been absconding training for the last four days.
Kangwa returned home in July this year after his move to join Spanish side Recreativo da Huelva flopped.
Nkana assistant coach Zeddy Saileti said in Kitwe on Saturday that he was in the dark on the whereabouts of Kangwa.
“I don’t know where he is. Evans hasn’t been here so it is difficult for me to know where he is. You need to ask the club secretary,” said Saileti after Nkana’s 1-0 victory over Buffaloes.
Nkana secretary Kenny Mwansa equally had no idea of Kangwa’s whereabouts.
“I don’t have any idea of where he is. He was last seen in training on Tuesday. His phone is also off,” Mwansa said.
Mwansa, however, could not state whether the club will take disciplinary action against Kangwa.
Kangwa was part of the national team that failed to qualify for the 2014 African Nations Championship (CHAN) finals to be held in South Africa.
Efforts to get a comment from Kangwa proved futile as his mobile phone was off.
Meanwhile, Saileti said Nkana’s victory over Buffaloes was a step towards clinching the 12th Super Division title.
He said the Kitwe outfit will continue working hard to ensure they reclaim the title they last won in 2001 under Patrick Phiri.
“This is an important victory for us. We have moved a step towards achieving our target of winning the league,” Saileti said.
The former international striker praised his players for their fighting spirit despite having been outplayed for long spells.
Nkana have 35 points with four games in hand.
