THE anticipation is over, as the gates to the Show Grounds finally opened yesterday for the 87th edition of the Agricultural and Commercial Show of Zambia (ACSZ).
The show is aimed at giving an opportunity to both the local and international exhibitors to showcase their various products and services to the members of the public and would last until Monday next week.
The promise that this year’s show will contribute significantly to the achievement of sustainable development will not fade away today.
For many years to come, the country stands ready to benefit from the business linkages and deals that will be struck this weekend.
From the list of foreign exhibitors participating in this year’s show, a good number of them will be encouraged to come to Zambia to set up bases.
Government wings such as the Zambia Development Agency (ZDA) will be on site to woo both domestic and foreign investors and will be overwhelmed by the presentation on the opportunities the country has to offer.
One of the major sectors synonymous with the agricultural show is the livestock industry, which has potential to significantly contribute to the economic growth.
Many Zambians would be privileged to interact with foreign exhibitors to strike deals for partnerships and supplies.
This is an opportunity for organisations like the Zambia Chamber of Small and Medium Associations to sell their ideas and projects for their members.
The 87th show which has attracted about 1,000 local and foreign exhibitors should ideally translate into a considerable business deals.
The show, under the theme; “Business in a Changing Environment” reaffirms the Government’s commitment of creating a conducive business environment.
Therefore, Zambian entrepreneurs have the chance to exchange notes and proposals for partnerships with their foreign colleagues, while the many foreign exhibitors should take advantage of the massive potential in Zambia, which would be ably marketed during the show.
