Govt to construct seven clinics in North Western province

 

Solwezi, July 15, 2013, ZANIS  —  Government  say  it will construct seven new health facilities in North Western province as part of its infrastructure projects  development in the country.

 

 

 

The health facilities are part of the 650 health centers that government intend to construct countrywide.

 

 

 

ZANIS reports that Foreign Affairs deputy minister Gabriel Namulambe said this in Solwezi over the weekend.

 

 

This was  during the Chibuye Makalakala ceremony of the Lamba people in chief Mulonga’s chiefdom.

 

 

 

Mr. Namulambe said government is aware that people are expectant of the Patriotic Front government hence embarking on various developmental projects aimed at reducing poverty.

 

 

 

He said it is the responsibility of government of to deliver to expectation of the people and this is what the Patriotic Front government is doing.

 

 

 

He  also explained that government will channel more resources towards developmental projects that will benefit the people in long term following the removal of subsides on fuel and maize.

 

 

 

The minister also said government will tar the Kipushi and Kalengwa roads by July 2015 under the Link Zambia 8,000 Road project.

 

 

 

He said the previous government had misplaced the use of resources realized from the mines towards maize and fuel subsides instead of developing the province.

 

 

Chief Mujimanzovu of Solwezi west appealed to government to ensure that it works with the people in addressing challenges they are facing such infrastructure development.

 

 

 

The chief said this enable the people appreciate the efforts that government is putting to improve their lives.

 

 

Organizing committee chairperson Edward Katayi said people have appreciated government for uniting traditional leaders through the creation of chief’s affairs ministry.

 

 

 

He urged government to build the Chief Mulonga a palace and complete the electrification of the area.

 

 

 

The traditional ceremony was also attended by the Chiefs from within the district, Chief Kaponda from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Chief Malembeka of Lufwanyama District and Solwezi central MP Luck Mulusa among others.
