Choma PF refutes assertion of opposition

Choma, July 13, 2013, ZANIS – THE ruling Patriotic Front (PF) in Choma says contrary to assertions by the opposition, all its party structures are intact.

PF district political secretary, Bernadette Hamweemba, has for this reason  dismissed the allegations that most of its influential members have defected to the opposition Agenda for a Better Zambia (ABZ).

Ms.  Hamweemba, says the ruling party has not suffered any defections apart from a few turncoats who decided to join ABZ when its president Father Bwalya visited Choma recently.

ZANIS reports that the PF district political secretary said this in an interview in Choma District, today.

She says those that defected had just joined the PF and were disgruntled because they could not get any leadership positions immediately.

Ms Hamweemba said  today that all party structures are intact and membership has been growing every day as the ruling party has become attractive to many Zambians.

She says people in the area are happy with the developmental agenda of the PF government and also the way President Michael Sata has handled national affairs.

The district political secretary says the PF in Choma is well prepared even for a by-election election if it were conducted today because of its robust party mobilisation programme which has seen membership grow tremendously.

Ms Hamweemba says it would be wishful thinking for father Bwalya’s ABZ party to think that it has penetrated Choma.

She says father Bwalya’s recent visit to Choma did not have any impact.
