ZAWA apprehends two armed men in Kaoma District

 

Kaoma, July 09, 2013, ZANIS —-  A team of Zambia Wildlife Authority (ZAWA) officers from Mufunta game management area have apprehended two men for unlawful possession of firearms contrary to the firearm Act.

 

 

 

ZANIS reports that  a ZAWA prosecutions officer based at Kaoma office Evance Mushimbalume confirmed the development in an interview.

 

 

 

Mr. Mushimbalume  named the apprehended duo as Derrison Tukuma 52 and Kabihima Mangwati 38, both of Levu village in chief Afumba’s area in the newly created of Luampa district.

 

 

 

He  said  that Tukuma and Mangwati were found illegally possessing the guns namely muzzle loading guns without firearms license and they will appear in court soon.

 

 

 

He has however appealed to those possessing the firearms illegally in the three districts of Luampa, Nkeyema and Kaoma respectively to surrender the arms to ZAWA or Kaoma police station.

 

 

 

He also advised the local  people  in the area  to  take advantage of the amnesty which is on-going in the country.
