Lungus declare 90 days mourning

Mpulungu, July 4^th , 2013 , ZANIS —-  The Lungu Loyal Establishment has declared a 90 day period of mourning in honour of their  late senior chief Tafuna of the Lungu people of Mpulungu.

 

ZANIS reports that this was reached at during a meeting of lungu chiefs held at Isoko palace yesterday.

 

According to the resolutions of the meeting, election of the new chief would only take place after the period of mourning.

 

Deputy chief Tafuna Cosmas Sikazwe Tafuna would continue to act in the position for the time being.

 

The meeting also advised Chiefs Chinakila, Chitimbwa and Nondo to be patriotic and not to give in to political interference or corruption from some candidates when the time came for the selection of the new senior chief.

 

Senior chief Tafuna died last week and will  soon be buried in Mporokoso.
