Govt urges ZIFT management to strive for excellence

Ndola, June 28, 2013, ZANIS – GOVERNMENT has urged Zambia International Trade Fair (ZITF)  management to strive for exellency.

Commence Trade and Industry Minister Emmanuel Chenda  says it was important for the (ZITF)  management to work on promoting values that can contribute to improved policy making and implementation in the Zambian economy.

Mr.  Chenda  says Zambia needs to achieve and sustain a high growth rate of 8-10 percent per annum to be a middle income by 2030.

ZANIS reports that the minister said this in a speech read on his behalf by Commence Permanent Secretary Stephen Mwansa at the official opening of the 2013 business seminar for ZITF at Mukuba hotel in Ndola today.

He explained that  the seminar was important in building the common ground and mutual understanding of national issues that include policy making and implementation.

.

He also implored ZITF Board to involve international speakers in such seminars in order to broaden the scope of analysis of issues under discussion and benefit from international dimension of diversity.

He called on participates to share a strategic direction through making a collective sense process of providing invaluable guidance to better policy making and implementation.

“This is a noble cause and I would like you to continue doing so and in the process contribute to developing and sharing of knowledge on the economic and social issues affecting our country,” Mr Chenda said.
