Late Father Chansa, a media icon – Sakeni

Information and  Broadcasting Services Minister Kennedy Sakeni today joined scores of mourners at Dominics Catholic Church in paying his last respects  to the Late Catholic clergyman Father Osward Chansa.

 

Mr. Sakeni described the Later Father Chansa who diedd at the University Teaching Hospital as an icon of the media.

 

The minister revealed that Father Chansa played a pivotal role in the establishing and opening of radio Yangeni of in Luapula province.

 

ZANIS reports  that the  minister said this to journalists shortly after the body viewing.

 

He said the death of Father Chansa has robbed the people of Luapula and Zambia a media icon.

 

Mr. Sakeni said father Chansa will be remembered by the people of Luapula for his active role he played in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

 

The minister recalled that the Late Father Chansa was fearless and board in his discharge of duties as a priest.

 

And Zambia Episcopal Conference Secretary General Father Cleophas  Lungu has implored other priests to emulate the late father Chansa good works of community service and continue were he lift from.

 

Father Lungu , who presided over the funeral service , told mourners that Father Chansa give himself to the course of  serving humanity.
