Police launch manhunt for guard killers in Petauke District

Petauke ,  June 22, 2013, ZANIS  —  Police in Petauke have launched a man hunt for three men who broke into Barclays Bank Petauke Branch after killing one security guard.

 

ZANIS reports that Police sources have confirmed  the dev elopement in an interview in Petauke, district today.

 

They said that one security guard was killed by the trio who are still on the run.

 

The source named the deceased as Joseph Njobvu aged 32 of Chiwowa village and the survivor Alfred Mwale aged 24 of garden compound both from Senior Chief Kalindawalo’s area.

 

The incident happened around midnight when a gung of three people armed with knives and iron bars broke into the Barclays Bank.

 

They killed one security guard named as Joseph Njobvu  in the process . However his counterpart escaped and alerted  the Police.

 

The two guards belonged to Guardall Security Group Limited.

 

The deceased body had a swollen neck, two deep cuts on the skull and one deep cut on the left ear while  the survivor  sustained a deep cut on his right fore – finger.

 

The three suspects ran away after they had failed to steal anything from the Bank.

 

Meanwhile, the body of the deceased is lying in Petauke District Hospital mortuary awaiting post-mortem has since been discharged.
