Political governance activist Bonny Tembo has predicted a landslide victory for the ruling Patriotic Front (PF) in the forthcoming Feira parliamentary seat slated for June 20, 2013.

Mr Tembo observed that the electorates in Feira have realised that the PF candidate Patrick Ngoma will bring development closer to them once re-elected.

Mr Tembo says the ruling party is most popular in the area compared to the opposition hence the decision by Mr Ngoma to ditch the opposition MMD to join PF.

ZANIS reports that Mr Tembo who is former Anti-Voter Apathy Project Executive Director was speaking in an interview in Lusaka today.

He said the opposition will have a tough time not only in Feira constituency but also other parliamentary seats like Solwezi East, Kafulafuta, Mkushi North and the recent nullified Malambo seat.

Mr Tembo noted that the opposition UPND, NAREP, UNIP and MMD parliamentary candidates vying for the Feira seat are detached from telling the people real issues affecting them but opted on a path to denounce the PF leadership and policies of the government of the day contrary to the democratic tenets and values.

He said democracy is about issue based campaigns and not mudslinging because people want food and development to come at their door steps.

Mr Tembo who is in the PF campaign team in Feira constituency in Luangwa district urged the people to remain focused and support the PF government policies that are meant to improve their welfare as evidenced by the removal of subsidies on fuel and maize.

Mr Tembo has advised the Zambian people not to be swayed into ‘cheap politicking’ by some politicians whom he described to be selfish and lacked agenda to develop the country.
