DAPP donates to Nchelenge

Nchelenge, 14 June , 2013, ZANIS…The Development Aid from People to People (DAPP) through the Ministry of Community Development, Mother and Child Health has donated clothes to vulnerable people in Nchelenge district of Luapula province.

Nchelenge District Community Development Officer (DCDO) Georgina Ng’andu confirmed the development in an interview with ZANIS today.

Ms. Ng’andu said her office has been entrusted with the responsibility of distributing the clothes to the recipients throughout the district by DAPP because of its existing structures.

She said DAPP has donated 500 assorted pieces of clothes at an undisclosed amount of money for distribution to the vulnerable people.

DCDO said her office  has since identified old people and the physically challenged as beneficiaries from all the corners of the district.

She explained that the distribution exercise has already started and that centre staff have been engaged   in order to reach out to the vulnerable groups in far flung areas.

Ms. Ng’andu has commended DAPP for the gesture and observed that the donation will go a long way in helping the vulnerable people.
