The executive committee of Nkhwazi Football Club has terminated the contract of the team’s head coach Osward Mutapa and of his assistant coach Kelvin Kanyanta.

Nkhwazi Executive Football Club Media Liaison Officer, Levy Lilanga, said the termination of the services for the two coaches was resolved at the club’s executive committee meeting held on Monday 29, April, 2013 after noticing the duo’s allegedly unsatisfactory performance.

Lilanga indicated in a statement to ZANIS in Lusaka today that the committee observed with dismay that out of the six games the team had played, it has only managed to acquire seven points instead of 18 points, translating into a 38 per cent win.

He said in a statement to ZANIS in Lusaka today that the executive committee has since described the performance of the two as unacceptable as its desire was to be a goal oriented one in order to keep the team flying high.

Lilanga disclosed that the committee has since retained former Nkhwazi Football Club Assistant Coach, Davis Musole and has appointed Lameck Nyangu as assistant coach to join Cornwell Ngoma who has maintained his current position.

He hoped that the executive committee will soon find a new head coach to keep the police sponsored team in the MTN super premier league.

Lilanga has however thanked Mutapa and Kanyanta for the cooperation they rendered to the executive, the team and the supporters.
