Govt. committed to develop tourism in northern province

 Northern Province Minister Obious Chisala   says government is committed to developing the tourism and Hospitality Industry in Northern Province.

 

Mr. Chisala says the Hotel and Tourism Training Institute Trust for training workers in the Hospitality industry in Kasama who had no opportunity to be trained in Lusaka.

 

Mr. Chisala however called for constructive engagements on issues that relate to the development of the tourism in Northern Province.

 

ZANIS reports that minister said this in a speech read on his behalf by Acting assistant Secretary Royd Tembo.

 

This was  during the graduation ceremony for 35 students who underwent training in Hotel and Tourism Industry in Kasama over the weekend

 

Meanwhile Hotel and Tourism Training Institute Director of Studies Evans Mweebo said the Institute is happy to bring life skills to people in the area.

 

Mr. Mweebo noted that the institute knows that not many people can manage to go to Lusaka and acquire these basic skills hence the need for them to conduct trainings in all area.

 

He has since assured Government that the Institute will not relent but continue to offer such skills in order to improve on the service delivery of workers in the Hospitality and Catering industry.

 

And speaking on behalf of the participants Editor Musongole promised the Associations that the participants will put the knowledge they have acquired to good use.

 

Ms. Musongole explained that workers in the Hotel and catering Industry lacked basic skills and training to help them improve on their service delivery.

 

The Ministry of tourism and Art in Conjunction the Hotel and Tourism training Institute and the Hotel and Catering association of Zambia organized 10 day training for participants in the Hotel and catering industry in Kasama.
