Scott warns brief case farmers in Kapiri

–Government has warned brief case farmers in Kapiri Mposhi District in Central Province against exploiting the small scale farmers.


Vice president, Guy Scott, sounded the warning at a rally held at Musowe Basic School grounds in Kapiri Mposhi today.


Dr Scot said government is doing everything possible to ensure that farmers receive their fertilizer as intended and warned of stern action against any would be swindlers.


The Vice President is in Kapiri Mposhi where he is holding a series of rallies to drum up support for the PF candidate in the Kapiri Mposhi Parliamentary by-election, Eddie Musonda.


And Dr Scott has urged small scale farmers in Kapiri Mposhi not to work individually but strive in forming farmer groups so that they can effectively benefit from the fertilizer support programme.


Meanwhile, the PF candidate for the April 23 parliamentary by-election, Eddie Musonda, has expressed confidence of scooping the seat.


Mr Musonda said he has set a serious of developmental agenda for the people of Kapiri Mposhi and promised to fulfil all his campaign promises once elected as area Member of Parliament.


Other participating candidates in the Kapiri Mposhi by-election are UPND’s Lawrence Zimba, while UNIP has fielded Francis Phiri as their candidate.


The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has set April 23 as the date for the Kapiri Mposhi parliamentary by-elections, which fell vacant after the Supreme Court nullified the election of MMD Parliamentary candidate Lawrence Zimba.
