JCTR to campaign for improved human rights

Lusaka, March, 22, 2013 ZANIS — Jesuit Centre for Theological Reflection (JCTR) Faith and Justice Program Manager Brian Banda says his organisation will vigorously campaign for the improvement of various areas of human rights in the nation.

Mr. Banda said the Outreach Teams in the country will focus on Access to Safe and Clean Water, good Sanitation and adequate food for all citizens which have a direct impact on human dignity.

He said his organisation do believe in a dignified living for all Zambians where individuals and families have an opportunity to earn a decent living.

ZANIS reports that  Mr. Banda said this in Lusaka, today,  at Validation Workshop discussing the Report on Awareness Strategies for Economic, Social and Cultural Rights in Zambia.

He stated that the agreement is consistent with the on-going country-wide work of the Jesuit Center for Theological Reflection based on the Social Teachings of the Church which place human dignity, at the center of human development.

He has since called on the Government, the Media and Civil Society Organizations to promote human rights as a way to improving human dignity in pursuit for social justice.
