Youths challenged to be economically active (resent)
Solwezi, March 6, 2013, ZANIS–Northwestern province permanent secretary Augustine Seyuba has urged youths in the area to actively participate in the economic programmes being  implemented by the government in the region.

Speaking during the first ever provincial youth exposition held at Solwezi College of Education  yesterday,  Mr Seyuba assured the youths that Government is concerned about their welfare.

In a speech read for him by provincial deputy permanent secretary Fred Chingi, Mr Seyuba said there is need for the youths to work closely with the government in developing the region through entrepreneurial skills being offered by various skills centers.

Mr Seyuba said Government has recognized the role that young people play in developing the country and that it was for this reason that it has put in place the youth empowerment fund.

He said government has taken keen interest in the welfare of youths and is committed to ensuring that their lives and well being are productive.

Mr Seyuba challenged the youths to rise up and participate positively in all the economic programmes lined up for them by the government.

And Provincial youth development coordinator Christopher Malisopo thanked government for creating a conducive environment for young people to develop themselves.

Mr Malisopo said government is focused on implementing programmes which will empower the youths economically and appealed to them to remain focused.
