-Vice President, Guy Scott, has called on Zambians to seriously reflect when choosing people to represent them at various decision making positions.

Dr Scott said it is sad that some leaders have completely abandoned their people at the expense of fulfilling their selfish ambitions.

He also said voting is the only time people should choose credible leaders who are capable of brining meaningful development in their respective areas.

The Vice President was speaking at a public rally at Minsundu grounds in Masaiti District this afternoon to drum up support for the Patriotic Front (PF) candidate, Webby Chilungu, ahead of the forth coming February 28th Mwatishu Ward local government by- elections.

Mwatishu Ward fell vacant after the death of its incumbent councillor, Morris Kafumbo, last month.

Dr Scott has since called on the people of Minsundu to vote for the PF candidate, Webby Chilungu, to spearhead many developmental projects in the area

And Dr Scott has assured the people of Masaiti that government will do everything possible to bring development in the district such as building of schools, health centres and construction of roads among others.

Speaking at the same rally, Sports Minister, Chishimba Kambwili, said the government will never govern this country based on any tribal lines, adding that it will remain committed to unite and work with anyone regardless of his or her tribe.

Mr Kambwili also called on the people of Masaiti to work with the government of the day in implementing various developmental works in the area.

He further called on the PF candidate, Webby Chilungu, to ensure that he quickly addresses many challenges the people of Mwatishu Ward have been facing, particularly the illegal allocation of plots among others once voted into power.

Dr Scott has since proceeded to Mpongwe to drum up support for the PF candidate Gabriel Namulambe in the forth coming February 28 Mpongwe Parliamentary by-election.
