Govt assures chiefs of commitment to solve their problems

—–Vice President, Guy Scott, has said government will remain committed in ensuring that it addresses many challenges being faced by traditional leaders in the country.

Dr Scott said government will ensure that it follows the right channel in addressing various problems that have rocked many Chiefdoms in the country such as succession and landownership among others.

The Vice President was speaking today when he paid a courtesy call on Senior Chief Chiwala of the Lamba people of Masaiti district on the Copperbelt province at his palace.

Meanwhile, Chief Chiwala has praised the Patriotic Front (PF) government for its concerted efforts in addressing the many challenges that traditional leaders have been facing in the country.

Chief Chiwala said the creation of the Ministry of Chiefs and Traditional Affairs was long overdue as it has mainstreamed many challenges that traditional leaders were facing in the country.

The traditional leader further praised government for bringing meaningful development in his Chiefdom and Masaiti district as a whole.

Chief Chiwala said this when vice president Dr Guy scoot paid a courtesy call on him at his palace today.
