Kasempa mother kills son

A 24-year-old woman of Muselepete compound in Kasempa district was today arrested and charged for murdering her three year son.

 

Evelyn Kapapa is alleged to have murdered her named son between February 1 and   February 21, 2013 and later dumped the body along Lufumpa River, 2 km from her residence.

 

North-Western Police Commissioner, Eugine Sibote, confirmed to ZANIS in an interview that the body of the child was found decomposed near Lufumpa River today.

 

Mr Sibote said the body was examined and confirmed to be that of a male child, while remains have been given to relatives for burial.

 

Mr Sibote said the mother of the deceased boy has since been arrested and charged with murder and will appear in court soon.

 

He noted that police are still investigating the motive behind the action of the suspect and will avail details in due course.

 

The Police Commissioner also disclosed that relatives of the suspect had earlier reported the missing child to police in Kasempa as they could not see the child with the mother.
