Zimbabwean arrested, masquerading as medical student

Police in Lusaka has arrested a Zimbabwean national who has been masquerading as a medical student on attachment at Lusaka’s Chipata First Level Hospital.

In a statement availed to Radio Chikuni News Police Spokesperson Esther Katongo says Mac Xunga aged 27 of Kabangwe in Lusaka believed to be a Zimbabwean national was purporting to be a student medical doctor from UNZA’s Ridgeway Campus.

Ms Katongo explains that on an unknown date, the suspect went to Lusaka’s Chipata First Level Hospital and introduced himself as a student medical Doctor on attachment and was allowed to attend to patients.

She says it was until 14th March, 2018 at 10:00 hours when one of the Clinical Officers at the same hospital noticed some irregularities in the manner the suspect was attending to patients.

Ms Katongo states that the clinical officer then questioned the suspect and later took him to Ridgeway Campus where management checked in the database and did not find the name of the accused.

She says when interrogated further, the suspect could not give his computer number and is currently detained in police custody.

  1. These gaps are everywhere even in security wings.managemental gaps everywhere. Put system in place,book where new staff ,students etc will
