The executive committee of the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has unanimously agreed to support Kalusha Bwalya’s nomination for FIFA council membership.
FAZ General Secretary Ponga Liwewe disclosed in a statement in Lusaka today that the executive committee yesterday to fully support the candidacy of Bwalya, who is the immediate past FAZ president for the FIFA council membership.
Liwewe said the decision to support Bwalya was arrived at during a FAZ meeting yesterday.
He said the move by the executive committee was a sign of solidarity of Bwalya’s candidacy.
Liwewe further said FAZ will also send a formal request to government to join in the lobbying of Bwalya’s candidacy.
He added that the 13 football association presidents from the Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA) region will visit Zambia at the invitation of FAZ president Andrew Kamanga over the support of Bwalya.
