The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has been reminded of its obligation to ensure today’s general election is hailed as being free, fair and credible.

Retired veteran politician Vernon Mwaanga says the ECZ should keep in mind that it is only when the elections are deemed to democratic does it become easy for political parties to accept the outcome.
In an interview with Qfm News, Dr. Mwaanga says the ECZ has an obligation to prove to the Zambian people and the rest of the world that it is capable of conducting a free, fair and credible election.

He notes that this entails ensuring that the elections meet both regional and international standards.
Dr Mwaanga has also advised political parties and candidates to seek redress from the constitutional court in the event of any grievance.
