THE Chifubu Local Court has ordered a Ndola woman to compensate her former fiancé K4,000 for breach of marriage contract.
Kennedy Soloka, 22, sued and won his case against Dorothy Tembo, 19, also of Chifubu, who dumped the plaintiff and fell pregnant by another man.
Soloka pleaded with the court to compel his ex-lover, Tembo to pay back K2,500, which he spent on her when they were dating.

Soloka told senior presiding magistrate Celestine Muchimba, who was sitting with local court magistrates Kaala Nyambe and Besa Mushibwe that he was in a relationship with Tembo for a year and that she consented to his proposal for marriage.
Soloka told the court that he paid bride price for Tembo but he was astonished when he discovered she was in a relationship with another man.
“Your honour, I have never loved another woman the way I love Tembo. I used to give her a number of material things ..”
