TWO DIE IN ROAD MISHAP IN KAPIRI MPOSHI

Two people died on the spot while 11 others sustained serious injuries in an accident which happened yesterday around 17 30 hours at Mpula area along the Great North road. Among those injured were three juveniles.

The deceased have been identified as Ameshi Katongo 51 and a female juvenile whose age is not yet known. The accident happened when the driver of the Toyota Hiace minibus Reg. No. ACX 3648 coming from Mkushi to Kapiri lost control and over turned due to excessive speed. Both the driver and conductor ran away after the accident. The bodies are lying in Kapiri District Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem while the injured are admitted to the same hospital.
