NAKONDE police have arrested a man who allegedly scalded his four-year-old son with boiling water for eating his mice without his consent.

Muchinga Province police commissioner Auxensio Daka confirmed the incident that happened in Chisimba village on Sunday.

Daka named the suspect as Teddy Simbaya, 32.

He explained that the boy’s mother, Priscah Namulunga, 27 told Nakonde police that her son had been burnt by Simbaya.

Daka said it is alleged that Simbaya had brought home two mice from the bush and his son ate one without his knowledge.

“It is alleged the father brought home two mice from the bush and incidentally, the victim ate one without the consent of his father, hence burning him as a way of punishment,” he said.
Daka explained that the boy sustained swollen hands and burns.

The boy was issued with a medical report form and is now being treatment while Simbaya will appear in court soon.
