UPND Supporters are a proper definition of Ubukopo – Kaluba

picture of HH was Photoshopped with a BBC log
Those of you who did primary school in the 1980s will remember that we sat according to groups in the class. The groups were determined by either ones weekly, monthly or end of term performance.
We had group One-claver and smart pupils. Group Two-not so good but not so bad or just average performers. Then we had group Three-ifikopo(empty tins) they mostly got one out of 10 or nothing. The dullness of group three was nothing you wanted to be close with. I know the terms used to define these people in group three did take away their self esteem. I think that’s why the grouping system was removed or abandoned.
We had one guy who gave an answer to the question what the capital city of Malawi was as “ichimutwe changombe
(A head of a cow) instead of Lilongwe. This is what I am talking about. Most of the answers from the group threes had no connection to the question.
I am afraid the advert of social media has brought back those classes of groups(1,2 and 3). And here I am not going to talk about  people or political parties who have more members in parliament because that is obvious. We know who has more MPs and who the second is and the number three. My focus will be on the supporters of these parties or say presidential hopefuls.
I have said in many of my posts that I will continue to criticise opposition parties because they are not immune to criticism. It is even worse if a party behaves like group three pupils. I am not insulting anyone here. I am just stating the facts. Let me give you the following examples maybe you will agree with me.
Early this week someone posted a photo of a political gathering in Zimbabwe and said the picture was of a UPND political rally in a town in Eastern province. What shocked me was that on the picture there was a flag or two of Zimbabwe. If that is not enough fellow UPND supporter were like “Eastern province is ours just look at the numbers.” You may ask but before posting the picture this person didn’t know that that was not Zambia or there was a Zim emblem. The answer is when ichikopo is copying they don’t care about what they are copying. They just copy and paste or write. The question is how is this going to to help UPND win elections. Only ichikopo can answer that.
Again this week a picture of HH was Photoshopped with a BBC log. So instead of reading BBC Lusaka it read BBC London-LIVE with a mended wall fence behind. LOL. Another example of ubukopo. Same question again. How is this going to help HH and UPND win elections. Only an empty tin will answer that.
People don’t even realise that BBC can even place changes on that picture. In some countries people and organisations get into trouble for using false images.
Yesterday I saw a post and a picture from a named African country. But today a named UPND supporter posted it and said that was the labour ward in one of our hospitals. University Teaching Hospital(UTH) to be specific. Again people started commenting without looking at the picture very well. However, to there shock some people noted that the picture is not about UTH as there is no such room at UTH. Some people said they saw it in a newsfeed about a day ago. But sure nangu bukopo. Do people think what they see others don’t see. People saw it yesterday form another source and you share it today saying  it is another place. I don’t know what to call this. You be the judge and give a name to such people.
The list is endless. UPND supporters are using a lot of images which are as old as 12 years. Photos taken not only in Africa but also in other countries and claim that was Zambia. The question is for what purpose. You post false pictures about your country what are you ? Ichikopo nacho ichatulika(A big tin with holes). These fake photos are doing more harm than good to UPND and HH. And this is a fact. If that is your provision of checks and balances then we have no opposition supporters in Zambia.
Instead of working hard for your country or looking for a job. You have now resorted to going around Shoprite supermarkets to get photos of prices. You eat bread, sweet potatoes or Nshima for breakfast everyday. When did you start eating cornflakes that you should have interest in how much they cost.
Until opposition parties behave and understand that Zambia is our country and we have to be proud of it in good times and when we are facing challenges. We work together and build our country together. Until that day when we see a smart opposition otherwise we have no opposition. We just have ifikopo.
The late President Mwanawasa once said: “UPND is like buttocks. They will forever remain behind” UPND supporters are not doing themselves justice but proving him right.
