Police in Chilubi district of the Northern Province have arrested two murder suspects who killed a 35 year old man of Matimba village in chief Chiwanangala while two others are on the run.

Northern Province Deputy Police Commissioner Alfred Nawa identified those arrested as Kapaya Miyeye 27 and Chola Miyeye 21 of Matimba village in senior chief Chiwanangala area to help the police with investigations to the alleged murder.

The duo arrested are among the four murder suspects alleged to have murdered Felix Kunda 34 of Matimba village after a dispute erupted during a drinking spree.

It is alleged that Kunda together with his colleagues picked a quarrel with his friends who beat him up severely and sustained serious body injuries which resulted to his death the following day.

Mr. Nawa disclosed that after Kunda was beaten on 12 May 2015,he did not seek medical attention at Matipa rural health centre or any other health institution and died at home around 06:00 hours the following day.

The Police Deputy Commissioner further said the victim’s body was buried the same day after police advised the community to mark his grave for future exhumation to verify the causes of the death.

Mr Nawa said Felix was beaten by Oswald Chinyimba, Kapaya Miyeye, Chola Miyeye and Andale Mulenga all of Matimba village in senior chief Chiwanangala’s area.

Police in the area have since launched for a man hunt for Oswald Chinyimba and Andale Mulenga who are still on the run.
