Zambian Breweries in court for selling Fanta unfit for human consumption.

ZAMBIAN Breweries Plc has been dragged to court for allegedly selling a bottle of Fanta unfit for human consumption.
The company has since pleaded not guilty to selling contaminated Fanta.
The Health Department has dragged the company to court following a complaint from a Kitwe resident who bought a bottle of Fanta containing some foreign material that was allegedly not fit for human consumption.
This is in a case in which Zambian Breweries is facing one count of Prohibition of Sale of unwholesome food contrary to the Laws of Zambia.
When the matter came up for plea on Monday before Kitwe Magistrate Prosper Mwila, Allan Bwalya, 45, a representative for Zambian Breweries denied the charge on behalf of the company.
Particulars of the offence allege that Zambian Breweries, on March 15, this year, in Kitwe, sold one bottle of Fanta that consisted of foreign matter that is unfit for human consumption. Magistrate Mwila adjourned the matter to May 8, this year, for trial.-ZambiaDailyMail
