Construction of the K5.9m Mwamba Bridge in Kasama completed.

 

Kasama, 12/02/2015-ZANIS— Construction works on the K5.9m Mwamba Bridge in Kasama has been completed.

 

 

Kasama District Commissioner Kalanga Bwalya who inspected the bridge expressed happiness at the workmanship exhibited by the Local contractor – Tomorrow investments.

 

 

Mr. Bwalya  who confirmed the development in an interview in Kasama today  noted that the permanent bridge that has been erected will help reduce the challenges the people of senior chief Mwamba were facing in the past.

 

 

He observed that the development will help boost the economy of the district because the area is an agricultural producing area.

 

 

The DC said government is committed towards improving other crossing points in the districts to easy mobility of the people in those areas.

 

 

And Judy Mwansa, 49, a resident of Kalense Village thanked the PF government for constructing a permanent bridge at the site.

 

 

She said for over 50 years, the area had never had a permanent bridge.

 

 

Ms. Mwansa noted that the bridge will help the local people to access social amenities like bridges.

 

And Tomorrow Investment site Supervisor Enock Sakala says the bridge will be handed over to government by the end of February, saying his company will continue to erect quality works in future contracts.
