Mr Kasolo said this today when he officiated at a two-day workshop for public media heads and Directors at ZAMCOM lodge in Lusaka.

The Information Permanent Secretary hailed the Zambia Daily Mail for its efforts towards dissemination of information to the Zambia people.

He noted that government and citizens at large are however happy with the type and quality of news content being disseminated.

Mr Kasolo said the purpose of the workshop is to make media heads understand the intricacies of their editorial content.

He said the workshop has come at a right time after the appointment of new Chief Executive Officers in the three public media institutions namely the Zambia National  Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC),  Zambia Daily Mail and Times of Zambia.

And Zambia Institution of Mass Communication-ZAMCOM Executive Director Oliver Kanene said it is time the media houses started generating resources for their operations.

He said the media managers will also undertake training in gate- keeping function in journalism, basics of media management, responsibility in journalism, as well as social traditional media.
