–Oriental quarries is to provide all the building materials for female boxer, Catherine Phiri’s house, in
Chalala area in Lusaka.
Oriental Quarries Operations Manager, Chris Malunga, says his company has decided to reward the boxer because of her past achievement in her boxing career.
Malunga, who is also Oriental Quarries Boxing Promotions Director, says his stable remains committed to give an equal opportunity to all
boxers by awarding them based on their performance.
In an interview with ZANIS Sports in Lusaka today, Malunga has
called for total discipline from his boxers, saying his stable will not
condone any undisciplined sports men and women.
And Malunga has disclosed that two amateur boxers, Dave Mwale and
Barbara Banda, who are currently under his stable, will this year turn
into full time professional boxers.
Malunga added that Oriental Quarries Boxing Promotions is currently
sponsoring sixout of the seven amateur boxers in various schools across the country.
