HH victorious in Mwandi constituency

————–UPND’s Presidential candidate Hakainde Hichilema is leading with 2,960 votes in Mwandi Constituency of Mwandi District, with PFs candidate Edgar Lungu second with 628 votes.

Mwandi constituency returning officer Given Sicheeba announced the final result of the Presidential poll at 13:00 hours saying MMDs Nevers Mumba polled 62 votes ,with FDDs Edith Nawakwi at 43 votes, UNIPs Tilyenji Kaunda  and 4Rs Eric Chanda got 22 votes each and 16 votes went to NAREPs Elias Chipimo.

 

He further announced that Godfrey Miyanda of the Heritage party had a total of 13 votes, while FDAs Ludwig Sondashi polled 5 votesm, Daniel Pule of the MCD party got 3 votes and Green Party leader Peter Sinkamba got 2 votes.

 

Mr Sicheeba noted that the total number of ballot papers in the ballots was 3,822, with 46 rejected ballots papers and zero disputed ballot papers.

 

He said Mwandi constituency had a total number of 23 polling stations with 12,060 registered voters.

 

The Returning Officer further said though most polling stations experienced a low turnout of voters the voting process in the District was peaceful and no violence was witnessed.
