Lukulu ballot papers verification successful
Lukulu, January 16, 2015, ZANIS — The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) in Lukulu district western province has successfully conducted the verification of ballot papers in readiness for the presidential elections next week on Tuesday.


The process which was conducted in the presence of monitors, political party agents, presiding officers and the media today at the Council Chambers has been described as transparent.


FODEP representative Chrispin Inamabo told ZANIS in an interview in Lukulu today that no confusion over the elections will be expected in the district as all records have been verified to be correct.

At the same event, Lukulu District Electoral Officer Alfred Mungalu urged monitors to be vigilant during the elections and report all elections officer found to be partisan.


He urged all poll staff to be punctual during deployment saying time management will contribute to the effective running of the elections on Tuesday.


And Mr. Mungalu has commended stakeholders in the district for being peaceful as the campaign period draws to an end on Monday 19th January.


He also thanked the Church in the district for its continued prayers for peace during the election process.
