Observe code of conduct, Monze DEO

 

 

Monze,  January 12th, 2015, ZANIS  —– Monze District Electoral Officer (DEO) Tryson Chunga has advised all the poling agents, monitors and observers in the district to strictly adhere to the electoral code of conduct during the poll on 20th January in order to reduce  unnecessary tension.

 

Mr. Chunga noted that all stakeholders should ensure that they adhere to the electoral code of conduct and prevent any unnecessary tensions.

 

Mr. Chunga said this when he addressed scores of party representative, monitors, observers, and the media in the Council Chamber Today.

 

ZANIS reports that the District Electoral Officer  said that the Electoral Commission expects all the stakeholders to respect and observe all the set electoral rules   during the poll next week so that the elections are credible.

 

“ I urge all of you here to take this briefing serious  aimed at educating you on all aspects of the elections including the electoral code of conduct so that we can prevent any unnecessary tension during the poll,” said Mr. Chunga.

 

 

Meanwhile, Mr. Chunga who is also the Council Secretary said   all the elections materials including the ballot boxes, lanterns among other election paraphernalia have already been received except for security materials.

 

“I would say we are set for the elections because we have since received almost all the materials except for security ones like the ballot papers which we are waiting for,” said Mr. Chunga.

 

And Mr. Chunga had advised some political party representatives and some media houses who failed to turn up for today’s briefing to show seriousness in the matter.

 

 

 Mr. Chunga expressed sadness that some political party representatives failed to show up to the meeting and was nevertheless hopeful that they will turn up for tomorrow’s briefing.

 

 

Some political parties that failed to send any representatives to the meeting include, the United National Independence Party,(UNIP), Heritage party (HP) Green Party,(GP) Fourth Revolution Party, NAREP, and Christian Democratic Party.
