Edgar Lungu pledges to improve Chiengi
Chienge, January 12, 2015, ZANIS – Patriotic Front (PF) president Edgar Lungu has promised the people of Chiengi that the roads in the area will be worked on soon after the rains were over.
ZANIS reports that Mr Lungu held three successful rallies in Chienge district yesterday where he made the promise to the Bwile and Shila people .
Mr Lungu made the promise at Senior Chief Kasoma Puta’s market area where he offered himself as a servant of the people because PF believed that power was with the people and leaders should always listen to the people and work for the people.
He said he would also focus on the development of schools in the area because an educated people were a catalyst to national development.
Mr Lungu said the late President Sata had started developmental projects everywhere in the country in order to uplift the living standards of the people which vision he was determined to continue with once voted into power next week on January 20.
He said the late President Sata stood for the truth and delivered on his promises and the person taking over from him should stand for the same.
The PF presidential candidate said power and wisdom was vested in the people and that wise leaders were those that listened to the people and do the will of the people.
He said he will also add value to the health sector because it was important to have a healthy people to develop the country.
Mr Lungu said during his tenure as Republican President once elected on January 20th , he would ensure that farming inputs reached the farmers on time.
He pledged to streamline the procedures of maize handling by the Food Reserve Agency (FRA) because currently the system was riddled with third party beneficiaries whose presence made the price of mealie meal expensive but that once this was cleared the cost of buying the staple food will be reduced and affordable to the majority of poor Zambians.
He said the PF would soon rebrand itself through membership recruitment and revive its commitment to help the poor people because the ruling party was a pro-poor people’s organisation.
Mr Lungu urged the people of Chiengi to rise in their numbers and vote on January 20 for a leader who will continue to lead Zambia with the similar passion and leadership acumen left by President Sata.
And Abel Musonda said the Kasoma Puta Palace was behind the PF government and that no one should mislead the people because their cry was that the roads in the district should be worked on.
He said the people in the area should know that the palace is with government and will continue working with the government of the day.
Speaking earlier Bahati Member of Parliament who is also Foreign Affairs minister and Edgar Lungu’s spokesperson Harry Kalaba urged the people to ensure that they vote for PF in the January 20 2015 presidential by-election because the PF had a five year mandate from the people of Zambia had President Sata not died.
He said according to the African tradition in Chienge, the family that is bereaved chooses the heir to the estate and the responsibilities left by the deceased in accordance with the clan and in politics the PF lost the President who should be replaced by a PF candidate.
And Member of the Central Committee for Luapula Chipolo Mwale said after the death of the late president, Zambians endorsed Edgar Lungu for replacement and the people of Chienge should not give the vote to another political party because the PF president was preferred by Mr Sata before he died.
Mr Lungu held public rallies in Lupiya, Kasoma Puta’s market area and Mununga before proceeding to Nchelenge and Mwense districts.
