——-Kawambwa District Elections Coordinator, Janet Mandala, has implored voter education facilitators to carry out their voter education facilitations seriously ahead of the January 20, Presidential elections.

Mrs Mandala says the good turnout of the electorate in the district will depend on the facilitators’ good work hence the need for them to be serious in sensitising the electorate in the district.

She was speaking at a two-day-training of District Voter Education Committee (DVEC) meeting held at the council chambers in Kawambwa.
.
Mrs Mandala said the facilitators should be job-humble and respectful to the community so as to do a good job
.
She noted that the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) was spending a lot of money to pay transport and other allowances to the facilitators and they should ensure they do a good job by delivering the correct message to the electorate.

And DVEC chairperson, Peter Sinyangwe, has urged the facilitators to use the money the ECZ will pay them properly.

Mr Sinyangwe pointed out that the money the facilitators will receive
could help them go to colleges if not misused.

The 15 facilitators that have undergone two days of training will be deployed to various wards of Kawambwa on the December 13, 2014 and be withdrawn on 14th January, 2015.

Meanwhile, the replacement of voters’ cards will be done in eight polling stations of two constituencies in Kawambwa district ahead of next year’s Presidential elections.

Kawambwa Central and Pambashe Constituencies have been allocated with four polling stations each where the replacement of voters’ cards will be done.
