—-The Luangwa District and Constituency UNIP Executive Committees together with the entire District membership have withdrawn their early statement calling for the
resignation of their party President, Tilyenji Kaunda and have reaffirmed their full support to him as UNIP presidential candidate in the January 20, 2015 Presidential by-elections.

Luangwa District UNIP Chairman, Olden Tembo and District Secretary, Ngosa Muswema, said the membership in the district regret their earlier statement of calling for the resignation of their

party president, Tilyenji Kaunda and have pledged and confirmed that they are fully behind the leadership of their president.

Mr Tembo and Mr Muswema said the district and constituency officials and the entire UNIP membership were misled by a few senior party
officials, among them Ms Beatrice Kayuni, who told them to join in calling of the resignation of their party president as someone who was not taking the party anywhere.

The two district officials have apologised to the Central Committee and the party president, Tilyenji Kaunda and pledged to
support the party president.

They said the UNIP members in the district were fully behind the candidature of Tilyenji Kaunda in the coming presidential by-elections.
